A pitfall is defined as a camouflaged source of trouble or danger – a hidden hazard.

Take, for instance, a hole in the ground. You might not see it as you’re walking and be caught unaware. Thereby, falling into it and ending up at the bottom of the abyss.

On the other end of the spectrum, you have the pillar – a vertical support used to uplift and hold oneself up. Pillars form the essential support for buildings and other structures and, in essence, keep the roof over one’s head. In this sense of the word, uphold the principle that in turn holds up the foundations of your life.
